Three Teenagers Facing Charges in Connection to Deadly Shooting in Bellefontaine

Three teenage males have been arrested in connection to the shooting in Bellefontaine that left one man dead this past Wednesday night.

 

In a release, the Bellefontaine Police Department made the announcement Thursday evening.

 

WPKO Radio reported the suspects were identified as 17 year old Ethan Grim, 16 year old Josiah Bush and 15 year Elijah Barrett, who are all from Urbana.

 

The three are accused of entering the home at 601 West Columbus Avenue, where they fired multiple shots.

 

Killed in the shooting was 22 year old Caleb Chamberlain. 24 year old Anthony Scartz was injured and taken by helicopter to a Columbus hospital.

 

Two women in the house were injured, but not by gunfire.

 

The Urbana Police Department received a tip as to the suspects location. 

 

Barrett had been shot at the house Wednesday and was arrested at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

 

Grim and Bush were arrested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

 

All three were transported to the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

The incident remains under investigation.
