The Palace Big Screen to feature Hocus Pocus for Halloween Weekend

The Marion Palace Theatre will offer movie-goers three opportunities to see Hocus Pocus on the big screen.

Show times are Friday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 31 at 2 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. There will be no Sunday films.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy star as the witches in this popular film. They return from 17th-century Salem after they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters! It’s a night full of zany fun and comic chaos once the tricky 300-year-old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth – but first they must get their act together and outwit three kids and a talking cat! (Disney) The film is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour and 36 minutes. This film is sponsored by Custom Professional Accounting.

The historic downtown theatre is taking precautions to ensure the safety of patrons. Guests will find hand sanitizer in several locations, plastic dividers in the concession area, and will be assisted in seat selection to assure proper spacing when in the auditorium. Staff and volunteers will be in masks and guests are asked to wear a face mask in all public areas. Patrons may remove masks once seated in the auditorium while actively eating and/or drinking. Concessions are available and are reasonably priced. Items available for purchase include Pepsi products, popcorn, and boxed theatre candy for $2 each. Admission prices are $4 for all ages and $2 for current 2020-2021 PCAA members presenting a valid membership card.

For Everyone’s Safety

.Palace staff and volunteers will conduct daily wellness checks and implement the use of face masks, as well as the use of gloves as appropriate.

.Guests are asked to wear face masks in all public areas (purchasing tickets, concessions, and lobby) and stay home if sick. Masks may be removed once seated in the auditorium and actively eating and/or drinking.

.There will be an increased frequency of cleaning, especially high-touch surfaces.

.Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the theatre.

.In-theatre signs and markings will encourage proper social distancing.

Hours & Price

.The Box Office will be opened Tuesdays from 10a-noon and Thursdays from noon-2p.

.Movie tickets and concessions may be purchased in advance in the box office.

.Tickets are also available at the main theatre door with cash or credit card 45 minutes prior to films.

.PCAA members who wish to redeem movie and concession passes must do so in person.

Concessions/Food/Beverages

.Concession stands will be open, serving the traditional menu – popcorn, soda, & candy. Each item will be $2. Patrons are encouraged to present cashiers with exact dollar amount to avoid the need to make change.

Auditorium Arrangements

.Empty seats between groups allows for proper social distancing in accordance with the CDC. Guests may be assisted by volunteers to ensure proper distancing between groups.

.Although capacity will be limited, groups of 6 can be seated together upon arrival at the theatre and in accordance with state regulations, provided accommodations are available.

.Following the movie, guests will be asked to exit while practicing social distancing between groups, dispose of all trash and avoid congregating in the lobby.
