Storm Spotter Training Class Offered

Written by on February 4, 2020

The National Weather Service – Wilmington will be hosting this live training on February 13th at 6:00 PM in the conference room of the Jacob Parrott Safety Center (1025 S. Main St. Kenton, Ohio 43326).

The training is free and open to the public.

During the class, the presenter will inform you of how to report certain or severe weather fronts to the National Weather Service so alerts can be sent to areas that severe weather is approaching and to help fine tune weather radar systems.

While this training is educational and questions are welcome, it is important that we in Hardin County know weather patterns since we are at the northern most part of Wilmington’s territory and, given the curvature of the earth, radar can have difficulty interpreting cloud and storm formations that may impact us.

If you or someone you know has an interest in the weather, plan to attend the training on Thursday, February 13th at 6:00.
