Shirley Ann Newland, 68 of Lima
Funeral services for Shirley Ann Newland will be held at 12:00 P.M. noon on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor David Mosler officiating. Burial will follow at Hueston Cemetery in Forest. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the funeral home.
She died at 6:40 A.M. on February 14, 2019 at The Lima Manor. She was born on November 30, 1950 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Jonath J. and Pearlie (Shepherd) Lafferty. She married the late Doyal Hale, then the late Randall Castle, and then married William Newland and they later divorced.
Surviving are a daughter; Angie (Kevin) Hunt of Lima, a son; Johnathan Lafferty of Kenton, a sister; Pearlie Goslee of Kenton, and 2 grandsons; Justin Bennett and Camrin Hunt.
Shirley had been attending church at The Faith Lighthouse Church of God.
She loved to socialize with her friends at T.O.P.S and attend the Council on Aging as well as Christian gospel musicals and shows. When she wasn’t out and about, Shirley enjoyed reading, baking, making fudge, and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons.
