Sharon Lee Moore

Sharon Lee Moore, 79 of Kenton passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020.  She was born in Kenton on December 14, 1940 to the late Paul and Thelma

(Critchfield) Edwards. Sharon graduated Kenton High School, Class of 1958.

She then married James Moore on July 7, 1962 and he survives along with her son, Shawn P. (Shawn A.) Moore of Kenton, sister, Bobbi Wiley of Marysville and five grandchildren; Kelcy, Alexa, Mikaela, Jenna and Devry.

Sharon received her degree from Ohio University, she taught at Ridgemont and Kenton Schools until her retirement in 1992.  She was active in numerous organizations, including, Keep Hardin County Beautiful, Mary Lou Johnson Library Board, Hardin/Allen Mental Health Board and Parks and Recreations Board.  Sharon was the first girls tennis coach at Kenton, a position she held for 16 years, winning 4 consecutive WBL Championships.

She also coached the boys tennis for a few years. Sharon loved spending time in Florida at the beach.  She also loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers, reading playing tennis and was very involved in KOTA. .

Sharon was always at all of her grandchildren’s activities and was their biggest fan.  She was known as Mema to her 5 grandchildren and adored them all.  Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.

A private family graveside service will be held at Grove Cemetery.
