Roger E. Lewis 84 of Ada

A celebration of life for Roger Emit Lewis will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

He died on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Vancrest of Ada. He was born on May 21, 1936 in Cow Creek, West Virginia to the late Dewey and Marietta (Hickman) Rogers. On May 18, 1959 he married Wilma Hardy and she preceded him in death in 2002.

Surviving are 5 daughters; Elizabeth Jean (Steve) Hall of Kenton, Cynthia Sexton of Kenton, Mary Jo Furr of Ada, Chris (Paul) Newland of Kenton, Shawna Hale of Kenton, 2 sons; Rex (Sharon) Rogers of Kenton, Larry (Pam) Rogers of Kenton, 2 brothers; Gene Rogers of Florida, Johnny (Susan) Rogers of Arizona, a sister-in-law; Brenda Rogers of Tennessee, 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son; Gary Rogers, 3 brothers; Hank Rogers, Alvin Rogers, Tom Rogers, a sister; Betty Mayhan,a grandson; Corey Rogers, a great-grandson; Jayson Hale, and a special friend; Phyllis Jenkins.

Emit retired from Westinghouse/AOC Smith in Upper Sandusky. He was a member of the VFW and AMVETS posts in Upper Sandusky.

He enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Vancrest of Ada’s activity fund.
