Robbery Reported at a Bank in Wapakoneta

A robbery occurred at a bank in Wapakoneta this morning.

According to a release from the Wapakoneta Police Department, officers responded to Home Savings and Loan Bank in the city at around 10:30 Friday morning after a suspect entered the business, showed the teller a note and demanded money.

Once the money was handed over, the suspect left the scene in a silver or grey car.

The suspect is a white male approximately 6 feet to 6 feet two inches, wearing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue gloves, light colored blue jeans and black tennis shoes.

Other departments assisting with the investigation are the FBI, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Patrol and the Grand Lake Task Force.

The department is asking for assistance from residents who live on West Auglaize Street between Ohio St and the city limits.
