Riverdale Announces Modified Hybrid Schedule Starting November 16th

Written by on November 13, 2020

Dear Riverdale Families

With the change in alert level for Hancock County and an increase in all of the quarantined
students and staff we have made the decision for Riverdale Local Schools to go onto a Modified
Hybrid Schedule. We will be starting the Modified Hybrid Schedule beginning Monday,
November 16th through November 24th.

Modified Hybrid Schedule is:
Monday/Tuesday: All students
Wednesday: Remote Learning (disinfecting in the school)
Thursday/Friday: All students

On or around November 24th we will determine what instructional delivery model is best when
we return from Thanksgiving on November 30th.

It is being reported that the increase in cases has been due to group gatherings. We want the
school to remain open and that depends on all of us as a community. We need to physically
distance whenever we can, and always wear masks when we cannot. As we said before
reopening, physical distancing is not possible in all situations at our school – this is one of the
reasons why students and staff are required to wear masks and this is why we’re providing
masks to students when needed. This is a critical component to keeping school open. Other
measures to help prevent the spread include cleaning high contact surfaces and good hand
washing.

Thank you to many of the parents who continue to keep their children home when sick and the
students who have been following the precautions.

We will continue to communicate all updates via text alert, push notifications, social media, and
our website.

Yours in Education,
Jeff Young
Superintendent
