Ridgemont School Board Releases Highlights of February Meeting

The Board issued reminder dates:
.March 3 – Two Hour Delay – Teacher Professional Development
.March 27 – No School for PK-6 Grade- AM Parent Teacher Conf. & 7th-12th Grade – Job Shadowing
.March 30 – No School – Teacher Professional Development
.April 9, 10, 13 – No School – Easter Break
.May 5 – Two Hour Delay – Teacher Professional Development
.May 14 & 15 – Kindergarten Screening
.May 22 – Last Day of School – One Hour Early Release –
.May 29 – Senior Graduation – 7 pm
Personnel:
A resignation from JD Dawson was approved for the end of the 2019-2020 school year. In the Maintenance Department, Jo Warner was approved for more hours to her workday and Dee Danieu was hired. Tutors were approved for the Third Grade Guarantee, substitute classified and teacher substitutes were approved. Todd Hollinger was approved as a volunteer baseball coach.
Operations:
The Ohio High School Athletic Association Membership for the 2020-2021 school year was approved by the board. For the 2020-2021 school year, the High School Course Description Handbook and the purchase of Chromebooks for 7th, 8th and 9th grade were approved. An additional student was approved for the Europe Trip in June. The board also approved updated policies and board committee members.
Donations:
The Ridgemont Board of Education accepted donations and took the time to thank the donors listed below for their generosity to the district.
.Dane and Erin Jeffers-Donation of 2 doors for Doors of EnCOURAGEment, to HS Art Dept.
.Ridgeway Church of God-Donation of Hats and Gloves,
.Hardin County United Way-Donation of Hats and Gloves
A Board Work Session immediately followed the Regular Board Meeting.
Board members were instructed on how to use the new BoardDocs system for future board agendas and minutes. Board Policies are already in BoardDocs and the link is on the school’s website.
