Ridgemont Board of Education Releases Minutes of Thursday Meeting

Although it was not our usual end of the school year, we made it! Thank you to all parents, students, and teachers for making it all work. I truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and determination as we moved from teaching students in the classroom to online learning.

As we wrap up this year, we are continuing to plan and prepare for next year as guidelines become available. Please continue to check social media and the school website for more information as we move forward into preparing for the 2020-2021 school year. We will share updates as soon as they become available.

May 28, 2020 Board of Education Highlights

We recognize the Ridgemont FFA Chapter for being selected as one of the Top Ten FFA Chapters in the State of Ohio for the twelfth year in a row. At the state convention, our 120 member chapter competed with 310 other chapters. In addition to Top 10 Overall, they competed in all three divisions of Models of Innovation, divisions were Growing Leaders, Building Communities and Strengthening Agriculture. The Board congratulates the Ridgemont FFA Members and their Advisors, Mrs. Stephanie Jolliff and Ms. Shelby Faulkner for this Exceptional Achievement.

Personnel

Addendum and a motion was rescinded to get the Treasurer and K-12 Principal of Student Life contracts updated and a 3-year contract was approved for the K-12 Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. A two-year contract was approved for a School Resource Officer with the Hardin County Sheriff Department. We are glad to be partnering with them again for an SRO at Ridgemont. Classified contracts were approved for Tami Freshcorn, Stan Schrader, James Shepherd, Dee Danieu, and Jo Warner.

Operations

Payment for teachers to work on curriculum was approved. A resolution was approved for payment of contracts through the closure of school was approved as well as all Spring Supplementals were non-renewed for the 2019-2020 school year.

The Shared Food Service Supervisor agreement was approved, as were the Third Grade Testing/Paper Format, Policy 3220 and Special Education agreement. More contracts were approved with Edmentum, Radio Repeater, and Great Lakes Biomedical. A Memo of Understanding was approved with OTES updates.

An additional graduate was approved to receive their diploma, congratulations to Alyssa Ruble.

The Ridgemont Board of Education and the Ridgemont Education Association have both approved a new negotiated agreement, the one year contract is effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. The Board also approved the classified employees will have the same contributions toward insurance premiums in accordance with the 2020-2021 negotiated agreement for the certified employees.

Donations

The Ridgemont Board of Education accepted donations and took the time to thank the donors listed below for their generosity to the district.

.Thank you to the Ridgemont Activity Boosters for helping with the cost of the Senior Banners.

.Thank you to the William Britton VFW Post for the donation of American Flags for the Seniors.

.Thank you to the Mount Victory Community Improvement Committee and the village of Mt. Victory for allowing us to hang senior banners downtown during the month of May to honor our graduates.

.Thank you to the Ridgemont Public Library in Ridgeway for allowing us to hang the senior banner.

.Thank you to the Hardin County Emergency Operations Center for distributing washable masks made by The Original Mattress Factory for school staff.
