Ricky D. Long of Kenton

A celebration of life for Ricky Dean Long will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

He died on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Marion General Hospital. He was born on August 15, 1952 in Kenton to George Long and the late Anita (Combs) Long. He married Brenda Clock and they later divorced. He then married Judy Everhart and she preceded him in death on February 4, 2020.

Surviving are a son; Jamie Long, 2 daughters; Tara (Chuck Burns) Long of Kenton, Nikki Manns of Kenton, Step-daughter; Jennifer (Orlando) Dal Polo of Kenton, 2 sisters; Connie (David) Sheets of Kenton, Judy Kendrick of Kenton, 2 brothers; Jerry (Helen) Long of Kenton, James (Fonda) Long of Decatur, IN, 11 grandchildren; Brittany Saxton, Cierra Manns, Mackena Manns, Cayden Waller, Kayce Sherman, Beth (Jeremy) Parker, Devin Dal Polo, Matthew Dal Polo, Amanda Dal Polo, Alexander (Britt) Dal Polo, Nathan Dal Polo, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law; Alan Kendrick.

Rick was a 1971 graduate of Kenton High School.

He had a love for cars and loved to work on them. He owned his own garage named Rick’s garage that he owned and operated for many years. He also enjoyed watching them race and was a member of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA). When he wasn’t tinkering in the garage, Rick enjoyed being outside, hunting, fishing and camping.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rhinehart Church.
