Richard E. “Dick” Ray

Richard E. “Dick” Ray, 85 of Kenton passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Blanchard Place.  He was born on August 8, 1933 in Hardin County to the late Melvin and Esther (Garwood) Ray.  He married Helen Gliebe in 1952 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 1975.  On April 1, 1977 married Barbara (Schultz) Kelley, she preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2001.

Surviving are daughters, Linda Huffman of Delaware, OH; Katherine (Daryl) Flowers of Kenton, OH; Margaret (Mike) Davenport of Gahanna, OH; Cynthia (Dennis) Beverly of Kenton, OH and Terrie (Brent) Wilson of Kenton, OH; sons, John (Cathy) Ray of Kenton, OH and Randy (Kathy) Ray of Somerset, PA and Rex Kelley of Kenton; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by brothers: Paul, Robert, William, Ralph and James along with sisters, Florence Ray, Ruth Ray, Edith Murdock and Helen Kindle.

He served his country in the US Army and the National Guard.   Dick retired from Rockwell. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, camping and bowling.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Blanchard Place and of Universal Hospice for their care and support.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dennis Beverly officiating.  Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery where the AMVETS Post 1994 will present full military rites.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
