Rhodes State College Hosting New Student Welcome Day

Lima, Ohio – Rhodes State College will host over 600 new students and their guests at the annual New Student Welcome Day, scheduled from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

This event offers new students the opportunity to meet classmates and instructors, pick up their books, locate classrooms, and enjoy fun social activities.

Welcome Day starts in the Keese Hall Multipurpose Center located at 4240 Campus Drive with student check-in and a special welcome from Dr. Cynthia Spiers, Interim President of Rhodes State College, and Dr. Rose Reinhart, Vice President of Student Affairs.
Attendees will be led to the Campus Quad by the “Grand-Marshall Cart” and students will receive Welcome Day t-shirts and festive parade gear. Guests will also enjoy music by local band, “The Hipnotix,” free food, games, and inflatables. New this year, the RTA Trolley will transport guests around campus.

Informational Booths will be available for students to explore various Student Support services on campus and within the community. Rhodes State Service booths include the Center for Distance and Innovative Learning (Online Classes), Testing Center, Academic Success Center, Alumni, Development, Dental Clinic, and the Rhodes Security office (ID badges, Lost & Found, etc.). Community Partner booths include the Crossroads Crisis Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of WCO, Biggby Coffee, The Meeting Place, Lima Memorial Physician Corporation, Crime Victim Services, and the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.
