Obituary For Robert G. Long

Robert G. Long, 87, of Findlay, passed away at 10:07pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Arlington. He was born on May 31, 1932, in Elkhart, IN, to the late Madison E. Long and Lottie M. (Burns) Long. On June 14, 1950, he married Virginia JoAnn “Ginny” Van Vorce, later divorced, who preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by his children: Cynthia (Ron) Leever of Boulder, CO, Robert G. Long Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, Michael (Donna) Long of Rawson, OH, Dale (Darlene) Long of Hope Mills, NC, Jeffery (Lisa) Long of Benton Ridge, OH, and James (JoLynn) Long of Findlay. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Robert was preceded in death by three sisters: Betty Altman, Rema Collins, and Mary Ellen Beck. Robert was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of South Main in Findlay, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME from 10:00am-12:00pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 12:00pm on Monday, March 9, 2020, with Pastor Jessica Commeret officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay.
