Funeral Services for Robert A. Hord will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 25, 2019 at The Price – McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor David Robertson and Pastor Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery with Military rites by Amvets Post 1994. Friends and family may visit from 4:00PM till 7:00PM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the funeral home.

He died on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1927 in Kenton to the late Ray E. and Mary Isabella Hord. He married Marilyn Radcliffe on June 6, 1948 and she preceded him in death on September 13, 1986.

Surviving are 3 sons; Dave Hord of New Carlisle, Dan Hord of Forest and Doug Hord of Foraker. 1 sister; Linda Wroten of Corpus Cristy, TX. 6 Grandchildren; Julie Ward, Mariah Ward, Bo Hord, Dereck Hord, Brandi Shepherd and Damon Hord. 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 step grandson Wes Tachett of Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Dixie Kaylor, Lucille Deerwester and Carol Hord. 2 brothers; Dalton and Raymond and special friend Barb Shaub.

Bob attended Kenton High School and was a life long resident of Kenton. He served in WWII in the Army in the 3rd Infantry Division. He worked for 42 years on Erie/Conrail Railroad as a signalman. He attended Faith Baptist Church.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting deer and fishing. In his younger days he coached little league baseball and football and umpired little league baseball games. He enjoyed working on “projects” with the boys and making friends with neighborhood squirrels. He was a VFW Post Commander of 3333 and State Commander of Ohio. He loved going to Kenton football games in the fall and rooting for the “Bucks”.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hardin County Human Society or Faith Baptist Church or St. Jude’s Hospital.
