Obituary for Paul R. “Sam” Butcher

Paul R. “Sam” Butcher, 88 of Kenton passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019. He was born on July 17, 1931 in Kenton. Sam married Shirley Laubis on August 23, 1986 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey (Kim) Butcher of Florida, step-son, Greg (Sue) Patton of Kenton, grandson, Dane Butcher, step-grandson, Ian Patton, 4 step granddaughters, Brittany, Shalie, McKenzie and Lainee, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Hastings, Pauline McLaughlin and step grandson, Chad Patton. Sam was a
1948 graduate of Kenton High School where he was on the undefeated 1948 football team. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Sam retired from Rockwell International. He was a wonderful husband who loved gardening, fishing and woodworking. Sam was a member of the Kenton Elks Lodge #157, Kenton Moose, Eagles and Amvets. No services will be held and arrangements have been entrusted to the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Sam to the Hardin County Humane Society.
