A memorial service for Joan Smith will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at The Price – McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday.
She died on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. She was born on March 4, 1933 in Cleveland to the late Joseph and Martha (Creager) Stone. On December 20, 1957 she married Richard C. Smith and he preceded her in death in March of 1987.
Surviving are 3 daughters; Tracy Morrison of Lakeview, Stacy (Troy) Langenderfer of Cleveland and Shannon (Josh) Edwards of Belleville, MI. 7 Grandchildren; Kaylee (Ryan) Moore, Jenna Morrison, Max Morrison, Abigail and Hanna Langenderfer, and J.J. and Sydney Edwards. 5 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister; June Jacobs.
Joan was proud to be born and raised in Cleveland and loved to talk about her hometown and its history.
She was a die hard Young and Restless fan, who would never miss an episode. Other than her soap opera, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in her yard and around the pool.
Joan’s true passion was her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and wanted to spend as much time as possible with.
