Obituary for Elma May Spitler

Elma May Spitler age 94 of Upper Sandusky, died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 21, 2019. She was born on April 9, 1925 in Wyandot County Mifflin Twp. To Mark Carson and Bessie Mae (Clinger) Bowen. She married Minor Spitler on May 31, 1942 and they shared 77 years of marriage.

Elma survived by her husband Minor of Upper Sandusky, son Steve M. (Connie) Spitler of Upper Sandusky, two grandchildren Jeremy (Mandi) Spitler of Upper Sanduksy, Jocelyn Lehnhart of Sycamore, five great grandchildren Jared & Jakob Lehnhart, Jenna Spitler, Harley Spitler, Tori Spitler, sister Margaret “Maggie” Bower of Upper Sandusky. She was preceded in death by brothers Maurice Bowen, Paul Bowen, sisters Edna Spitler, Esther Kear, and Jean Zeis.

Elma was a member of First Lutheran Church. She retired from RCA in Findlay after 21 years. Elma loved to shop. For hobbies she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, doing cross word puzzles and watching Jeopardy. Elma was an avid NASCAR fan cheering for Dale Sr. & Dale Jr. Earnhardt. She was an amazing cook. Elma will be missed by her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Monday August 26, 2019 at 11:00am in Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Kathleen Shuck officiating. Burial will follow in Old mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky. Visitation will be Sunday August 25, 2019 from 1pm-3pm and from 10am-11am on Monday at Bringman Clark Funeral Home.
