Obituary For David A. Yingling

David A. Yingling, 87, of Carey, died at 9:26pm on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay surrounded by his family.

Born January 8, 1933 in Carey, he was the son of William T. and Marie I (Grady) Yingling. He married L. Jane Mangett on February 3, 1952. Jane survives in Carey. Also surviving are three children: Thomas Yingling of Massillon, Debra (Toby) Davis of Stoutsville and Susan Yingling of Carey, three grandchildren: Kelly, Kara and Katie Yingling.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: William and Donald Yingling.

David worked at National Lime and Stone and along with his wife, Jane, owned Dave’s Drive-In both in Carey. He later went to work for and retired from Whirlpool Corp. in Findlay. . Not one to sit still, he spent his retirement “working” at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course and Frederick’s IGA both in Carey. He was a people person and those jobs allowed him to share his good humor and positive attitude.

He was a sports nut. He was an avid fan of the Carey Blue Devils, Massillon Jackson Polar Bears(where his son coached) and the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He loved fishing, especially in Canada with his son and granddaughter. He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies at Bob’s.

David was all about his family. He enjoyed any time he could spend with them and supporting them in all there activities.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5 – 8pm on Friday, March 6, 2020 at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME in Carey.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 8:00pm on Friday at the conclusion of visitation. A private family burial will be at a later date in Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
