Funeral services for Billy G. Lamb will be private. Burial with military rites will take place at Dunkirk Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Billy died on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Kenton Nursing and Rehab. He was born on September 5, 1935 in Kenton to the late William and Ella (Sheldon) Lamb . On February 10, 1957 he married Joyce Beard and she survives in Dunkirk.
Surviving are 4 sons; Kevin Lamb of Maryland, Kirk (Eunice) of Maryland, Todd Lamb of Kenton, and Mark Lamb of Dunkirk, 16 grandchildren; Joshua (Breann) Lamb, Amanda Elliott, Gary (Sarah) Lamb, Devon Lamb, Nancee (Kevin) Strong, Benjamin Lamb, Haiden Lamb, Kenlee Lamb, Chad (Duranda) Shields, Ronald (Amanda) Shields, Katie (Adam) Shields, Miranda Shields, Andrea Gillison, Landon Lamb, Beverly Kimmel, Brittney (Eddie) Glenn, several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter; Kim Lamb, and four sisters and their husbands; Wilma (Jay) Clark, Luana (Carl) Penn, Rose (Joe) Allen and Dorothy (Ronald ) Fry.
Billy served in the U.S. Army. He was in the Big Red One Infantry and was a very proud Drill Sergeant at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He served overseas in France, 6 tours in Germany and 2 tours in Vietnam. He retired from the military in November of 1983.
