Funeral Services for Norma Jean Newland will be private. Burial will take place at Norman Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
She died on Sunday, June 14, 2020. She was born on July 16, 1929 in Foraker to the late Francie and Marie (Wallace) Scott. On January 31, 1948 she married Paul Newland Sr and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2020.
Surviving are 2 sons; Paul R. (Chris) Jr Newland of Kenton, Tommy Newland of Kenton, 3 daughters; Cheri Dye of Kenton, Marcia (Ron) Kinnear of Kenton, Tammy (Clayton) Baldwin of Indiana, 4 sisters;Judy Smith, Sharon Lowery, Beatrice Thomson, Martha Corbin, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 daughters; Dorothy Horn, Penny Prater, Baby Newland, a grandson; Jason Summa, a sister; Dorothy Scott, and seven brothers; Roger Scott, Tommy Scott, Toby Scott, William Scott, Bobby Scott, David Scott, Paul Scott and Gerald Scott.
Norma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman of faith who helped minister at many nursing homes. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
