Monica Sue Smith

Monica Sue Smith, 67 of Kenton, passed away at 5:33 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 in Bradenton, Florida.  She was born on March 21, 1953 in Kenton to the late Wellington and Ruth (Durkin) Rapp.  On March 7, 1972, she married Todd A. Smith and he survives in Kenton.

 

Monica is also survived by her three children: Todd (Misti) Smith, Jr, Kellie (Mike) Eversole, and Tiffany (Tyler) Sparks; ten grandchildren:

Tyler Tillman, Trevor Sparks, Trenton Sparks, Corey Eversole, Kaylie Eversole, Jacob Eversole, Cameron Smith, Emma Smith, Addie Buckenroth and Jarrett Buckenroth; great-granddaughter, Brinley Sparks and her brother, Dale (Dorcus) Rapp.

 

Monica was a graduate of Ridgemont High School.  She was a homemaker and owner of Children’s Laugh N Learn.  Monica treasured her children and the time she spent with her daughters at the daycare center.  She embraced every moment with her grandchildren and especially loved spending time with her grandbabies.

 

Monica enjoyed vacations at her house in Florida, walking the beach and collecting seashells.  She did a lot of traveling with her husband and loved to see the world.

 

Monica also liked to sew and make outfits for her kids to wear.  At one point in time, she owned a seamstress shop in Kenton.  Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Monica has sewn over 1,000 masks to give to her friends and family members.

 

Monica was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Mt.

Victory.  Memorials may be made in her memory to the church.

 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held from

2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed to the family by visiting stoutcrates.com.
