Mary Lou Newman, 96 of Kenton

Mary Lou Newman, 96 of Kenton passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020. She was born on January 25, 1924 in Hardin County to the late Wesley and Alice Pearl (McMillen) Montgomery.  On October 10, 1943 she married Lauren Newman and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2012. She is survived by her son, Todd (Donna) Newman of Willow Springs, MO, son-in-law, Andy Taylor of Michigan, sister-in-law Ethel Montgomery of TX, four grandchildren; Christy

(Kwaysee) Williams, Tim (Valerie) Taylor, Randi Newman, Nikki Newman, two great grandchildren; Miles Williams and Josey Clark, great niece, Arin Tracy and a special friend, Rosie Hites. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Taylor, two brothers; Wallace and Max Montgomery and two sisters; Dorothy Rush and Marie Lutz. She was a 1941 graduate of Belle Center High School and worked for the Kenton Sears Store for many years.

Mary Lou was a member of the Latham Chapter of the O.E.S. where she served as the past Worthy Matron. She also enjoyed playing cards with the Elks ladies card group and was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church where she served as chair of the Presbyterian Women’s Group. A private family service will be held at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME and burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
