Man Arrested in Lima Following Brief Stand-off with Lima Police

A Lima man was arrested following an incident that occurred in that city late this past Tuesday.

 

According to a release from the Lima Police Department, officers were contacted by a resident who told them he had been assaulted by a named suspect.

 

The victim said after being struck in the face multiple times, he left the residence that he shares with the suspect, who is said to have followed him and brandished a firearm and threatened the victim.

 

Lima police officers, the Crisis Negotiation Team and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team  arrived at the residence located at 800 Holmes Avenue in Lima.

 

After several hours, the suspect, identified as 51 year old Travis Rimes, came out of the house and was taken into custody without further incident.

 

Numerous pieces of evidence were confiscated from the house after police obtained a search warrant.

 

Rimes has been charged with Suspicion of Felonious Assault, Assault and Suspicion of Having Weapons Under Disability. 

 

He was transported to the Allen County Jail.
