A vehicle pursuit was initiated in Findlay early this morning.

According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a car for running a red light in the 200 block of North Main Street.

The driver of the car failed to stop and the pursuit went for around 8 and half miles through the city.

Spike strips were deployed which deflated the tires on the vehicle, but the pursuit continued around the outskirts of Findlay until the driver stopped on Crystal Glen Boulevard.

The driver then attempted to flee on foot but was struck by a bean bag munition.

Matthew Stockard, age 26 of Findlay, was then arrested.

He was treated for minor injuries at Blanchard Valley Hospital before being transported to the Hancock County Justice Center.
