Local Resident Named ‘Hometown Hero’

The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance held an award ceremony for a local Kenton resident at Basil’s restaurant in downtown Kenton yesterday evening.
The Hometown Hero award is presented to those who impact the community in various ways, from community outreach to community service. Jesse Purcell, Director of Chamber and Tourism, gave a description of what the candidate must do to be presented with this award. Purcell said, “This award celebrates those who are doing awesome things in this community.”
This year’s recipient was Lynn Jones Webb of Kenton, a resident who is a candidate for Mayor, adopted Murray Park in town and has put her convictions of bettering this community on full display, said Purcell. Webb said, “This is all just part of God’s timing. Because it’s not just me. I’m one of many. Because there is a group that wants to see this town be what it should be. We are going to be the best.”
The award is a grant from Woodmen Professionals that provides the recipient with a $100 check to go to a non-profit of their choice.
