BOWLING GREEN, OHIO – Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) toured two major tech facilities in Ohio yesterday. His first stop was the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Etna, to learn more about how the center operates and uses technology to fulfill thousands of orders. His visit follows news that Amazon selected Rossford, in Latta’s district, for a new Fulfillment Center.

He later joined Senator Rob Portman in East Liberty for a tour of the Transportation Research Center and to learn more about the center’s research and development efforts for automated vehicles. Latta is an advocate for American leadership in automated vehicles and was the sponsor of the SELF DRIVE Act that passed the House last Congress.

Regarding his tours yesterday, the Congressman released the following statement:

“Innovative technology has completely changed the way we live our lives and run our businesses, and today’s visits highlighted both what has been done — and what’s possible. I look forward to seeing an Amazon Fulfillment Center like this in Rossford, and the skilled jobs it will bring to Ohio’s 5th. It’s also remarkable to see what researchers are doing right here in Ohio when it comes to automated vehicles. We need to ensure that America remains a leader and have government be a partner as our industries continue to develop, test, and implement new technology.”

Latta also paid a visit to WKTN Radio for an interview for Public Eye. That airs Saturday morning at 7:30 and Sunday at noon on WKTN.
