A Kenton woman was cited with two offenses following a crash Monday in Union County.

According to the report from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by 27 year old Seona D. Harpel, was northbound on State Route 31 when it went off the right side of the road and struck a mailbox and continued from the scene.

Deputies caught with the vehicle on 31 just north of Byhalia after a witness reported a reckless operation.

Damage was observed as a smashed windshield, cracked bumper and hood damage.

Harpel first said she thought she hit a bird, but then said she may have hit a sign after being shown the damage.

She has been cited for failure to control and failure to stop after an accident.
