Kenton High School Coed Varsity Wrestling Finishes 10th Place at Bucyrus Tournament

The injury plagued Wildcat Grapplers pull out a 10th place finish after losing Ethan Manns and Jayson Dyer do to injuries at the tournament.

Noah Eikenbary and Aaron set out the tournament do to injuries against the Bath Wildcats the previous week.

Carter Bays a #2 seed tops the wildcats chart with a 2nd place finish. Bays (160 lbs) started the day with a pin fall against Olivia Thompson of Lakota. Carter then pins Kyle Stillberger of Mohawk at the 0:57 mark and Luke Waldo of Elgin with 0:35 off the clock. Winning his fourth match by a 10-4 regular decision putting him into the championship round where he drops that match by a 3-8 regular decision to Daniel Smith of Monroeville securing a second place finish.

Brandon Bowling walked into the tournament a three seed. Starting his day with three pin fall Bowling pins Alaister Soto of Shelby at the 0:32 mark. Next Bowling pins Daniel Goulding of Upper Sandusky at 0:36 and TyNesha Bishop of Buckeye Central at 0:32. Bowling drops his next two matches both his next two matches to Spencer Franks of Lakota (7-2 regular decision) and Bryce Sheets also by a 7-2 regular decision earning a fourth place finish.

Kenton’s 106 lbs wrestler Conner Dye goes 2-3 for the tournament earning him a fourth place finish. Dye dropped his first two matches to Roman Parobek of Ashland by pin at the 1:42 mark and Frank Depinet a one seed from Upper Sandusky by pin at 0:29. Picking up his first win of the day by injury forfeit against Kiyran Kershner of Bucyrus. Dye dropped his next match to North Unions Trace Williams by pin at 1:04. Dye rebounds back to pin Lauryn Davis of Hillsdale at the 5:20 mark.

Ethan Manns picks up two wins by pin ( Coppler, Bucyrus and Winings, Mohawk) before bowing out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury. Gavin Manns posted a pin for a win over Adams of North Union. Josh Hart also picked a win by pin for the day.
