Kenton-Hardin Health Department Answers Questions About COVID-19 Testing

Written by on March 31, 2020

The Kenton-Hardin Health Department has received a lot of questions on COVID-19 testing in Hardin County.

On it’s Facebook page, the agency issued this information to answer the question:

“Additionally, those individuals that MEET the criteria for testing the specimen can be collected and sent away to a lab at another location. We have received some results from these individuals and all have been negative at this time. We continue to have no confirmed cases of COVID-19, but this does not mean it is not in our community.”

Given that the virus is likley in the county, the health department reminds individuals to:

.Stay home when you’re sick

.Restrict non-essential travel

.Practice social distancing (6-feet from any one person)

.Limit group activities and keep groups to less than 10

.Wash your hands 20 seconds with soap and warm water

.Use hand sanitizer whenever possible

.Avoid touching high traffic areas such as door knobs, handles, gas pumps, credit card machines, etc.

.Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth.
