Kenton City Council Approves New Trash Program

Written by on June 15, 2020

In a special meeting of the Kenton City Council it was said that after information received during meetings throughout last week it was revealed that in order to implement the new trash system in July that the two ordinances and the resolution would have to be passed before the next regular council meeting.

Because of this, the legislation was read for a third time and discussed. It was asked that if a surplus of funds was accumulated from the trash collections administrative fee,  what would be done with it. It was said that the goal is to reduce the price of the administrative fee in the future and that those funds can only be used strictly for matters regarding trash collection and disposal but if this were to occur then the city has a few options such as sponsoring city wide clean up days or even reducing the price of the next month’s trash pick up.

When moved to a vote all three items passed.
