Kenton Boys Soccer Team Shuts Down Van Wert

Kenton recorded its 7th shutout on the season and improved to 7-2-3 (3-1-2 WBL) after defeating Van Wert 5-0.

The Wildcats struck early in the first half on a corner kick by Reed Cook that found the head of Bryce Ellis for a 1-0 lead. That was the lone goal of the first half.

The 2nd goal came minutes into the 2nd half on a goal from Riley Risner off an assist from KP Miller.

A few minutes later another corner from Reed Cook found Bryce Ellis for his 2nd on the night to make it 3-0.

Colby Quay made the lead 4-0 with 10 minutes left after he took a pass from Patrick Bartlett and made it 4-0. Wyatt Gerlach rounded out the scoring late with the assist going to Devin Hastings.

Brent Rader recorded the shut out in goal for the Cats. KSA outshot the Cougars 14-0 in the contest.

The JV Cats defeated Van Wert 3-1 and improved to 9-2 (3-1 WBL) Leading the way for Kenton was Kyle Kirk with 2 goals and Wyatt Gerlach with 1.

Assists for the Cats went to Wyatt Gerlach, Kyle Kirk and Brady Cameron. Devin Miller recorded 2 saves for the win in goal.

JV Cats 9 wins are the most in program history for the JV team.
