Judge Makes Ruling in Pilkington Case

Written by on February 4, 2019

A Logan County judge has made a key ruling in a case involving a woman who is charged with killing her three young sons.

The Bellefontaine Examiner reported that Judge Mark S. O’Connor ruled that most of the interview of Brittany Pilkington can be used at her trial.

The judge however also ruled that a final interview conducted by authorities from the Bellefontaine Police Department cannot be used because of the length of the interrogations, which left Pilkington without legal counsel, food, water and rest.

The rest of the interviews, during which authorities say she confesses to smothering the boys as they slept, can be used at trial.

An infant, Niall, died in July 2014, 4 year old Gavin in April 2015 and infant Noah in August of 2015.

The trial is scheduled to start March 18. If convicted, she could be sentenced to death.
