Funeral Services for Janet Wykes will be private. Burial will take place at Dunkirk Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

She died on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at her residence. She was born on December 12, 1921 in Dunkirk to the late Lawrence and Helen (Royer) Musgrave. On June 29, 1940 she married Charles Wykes and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1991.

Surviving are a daughter; Marsha (Gordon) Obenour of Dunkirk, a son; Steve (Cindy) Wykes of Dunkirk, grandchildren; Valerie Obenour, Doug (Vicky) Obenour, Nancy (Jere) Souder, Todd Wykes, Chad (Amelia) Wykes, great-grandchildren; Hannah Souder, Morgan Wykes, Preston Wykes, Cameron Wykes, Garrett Wykes, 2 step great-granddaughters, 2 step great-great-grandsons.

Janet was a Dunkirk High School Graduate. She worked for Clifton’s in Arlington for a short time but for the most part stayed home to raise her children and take care of her family.

She was a member of the Dunkirk Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and the Dunkirk Mothers Club.

Janet enjoyed sewing/crochet in her younger years as well as working in her yard. She also liked to go out to eat, most of the time to her favorite restaurant, the Plaza Inn.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
