Forest Officials Announce a Targeted Enforcement Area

Written by on June 24, 2020

Forest Police Chief Donald Southward and Mayor Dean A. Hankins, in consultation with the village safety committee, informed the public that the Forest Police Department will be operating a Targeted Enforcement Area for strict traffic enforcement in and around Gormley Park.

Enforcement will include, but not limited too, speed and stop sign violations in and around the park area throughout the remainder of the summer months.

Police and the Safety Committee are hoping to curtail such traffic offenses and eliminate the need to re-install speed bumps in that area.

The intent of the initiative is to create a safe environment for those traveling around, to, or within the park area and not to just issue citations.

However, such traffic offenses can result in citations being issued in the event a violation takes place.
