Flags at Half Staff in Honor and Memory of Longest Serving Sheriff

Written by on May 13, 2020

Gov. Mike DeWine ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset today at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center and Rhodes Tower.

They will also be at half-staff on all public buildings and grounds throughout Pickaway County.

All other public buildings and grounds in the state may fly the flags at half-staff during the same time period at their discretion.

That is in honor of the life and service of former Pickaway County Sheriff Dwight Radcliffe, who served in the role for 48 years.

He was the longest serving Sheriff in the United States.

Private family services for Radcliffe, who passed away last week at the age of 87, are being held today.
