Fire Destroys House on CR 84 North of Kenton Friday

A house in the 16,000 block of County Road 84 west of Grant was destroyed by fire the past Friday.
According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched around 1:30pm, and upon arrival heavy smoke and fire was visible from the residence. The fire quickly spread due to the windy conditions at the time.
The home is owned and occupied by the family of James Ward, but no one was home at the time, and there were no injuries.
The cause has not yet been determined, and the fire remains under investigation.
Assistance was provided at the scene by the Forest and Dunkirk Fire Departments and EMS squads from BKP, Dunkirk and Jackson-Forest.
Firefighters were on the scene for around 4 hours.
