Funeral services for Edward Skeens will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Wade Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the funeral home.

Ed passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at his residence. He was born on May 14, 1944 in White Sulfur, Ohio to the late Edward Earl and Vena Opal (Bowling) Skeens. On June 6, 1967 he married Esther Mae Kiess in Delaware County and they later divorced. He then married Martha Haudenschiled on June 1, 1996 and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving are 3 daughters; Dori Lynn (Tony) Spencer of Dunkirk, Lesa Ann (Wade) Melton of Mt. Cory, Carmen Kay Skeens of Findlay, 3 sons; Ricky Dale (Joanie) Kiess of Kenton, James Murfield (Sabrina) Skeens of Marion, Joshua Alan Haudenschield of Ada, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, 2 sisters; Betty Lou (Charlie) Kerr, Jenny Lea Davenport of Delaware, and 1 brother; Christopher Michael Skeens of Morrow Co.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Lucy Elaine (Bill) Buckley, a brother; Philip Earl Skeens, brothers-in-law; Charles Thompson, Doug Davenport and a grandson; Aaron Evans.

Ed started his 53 year career with Kroger in Delaware, Ohio. He then worked in both the Marion and London stores before  finishing his career in Kenton.

He loved to sing and dance and could often be seen dancing in the aisle while stocking shelves.

He loved working outside, hunting and fishing. Ed will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
