Crestline Joining Northwest Central Conference

Written by on January 27, 2020

The Northwest Central Conference (NWCC) announced that Crestline Schools will be joining the NWCC as a football only member beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.

Crestline has been playing football as independent and has a scheduling agreement with the Blanchard Valley Conference (BVC) for the 2020 football season.

League Commissioner Aaron Matthews issued the following statement, “We’re thrilled to have Crestline come aboard in 2021 for football. It allows for a seamless transition for our schedules when Lehman Catholic and Riverside leave after next year. We look forward to Crestline increasing our competitive nature in football moving forward.”

Crestline Athletic Director Greg Travis said, “Crestline is very pleased and thankful that the NWCC has offered us this opportunity to join beginning the fall of 2021 as a football only member. We feel that being in the NWCC we are going to be a great fit as far as competitive balance and with numbers in our program. Crestline is excited to compete in a very competitive conference, that regularly has sent teams to the state playoffs, and continue to grow the sport of football collectively.”

The NWCC also includes Hardin Northern, Ridgemont and Upper Scioto Valley as well as Elgin, Lehman Catholic, Lima Perry, Riverside, Temple Christian and Waynesfield-Goshen.
