Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month Observed in Ohio

Written by on April 10, 2020

April is Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month in Ohio.

Gov. Mike DeWine said Thursday that since Ohio’s stay at home order began March 22, the state has seen approximately a 50 percent drop in child abuse and neglect cases because those who typically report suspicions of abuse, such as teachers, coaches and child care providers are not seeing the children every day.

Sherry Ward, from Hardin County Job and Family Services, will talk about what is being done to help protect children, especially since schools are closed.

For the complete discussion, tune in Public Eye, Saturday morning at 7:30 and Sunday at noon on WKTN.
