Carey Man Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Wyandot County

A Carey man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while he was assisting a motorist who ran out of gas on State Route 15 in Wyandot County Tuesday night.

 

According to a release from Wyandot County Sheriff Michael Hetzel, 28 year old Mikhael Weyer was putting gas into the vehicle when he was struck by a sport utility vehicle being operated by 61 year old Jeffrey Striner, of Dublin.

 

Weyer was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wyandot County Coroner. Striner and the driver of the disabled vehicle, 21 year old William Kennard, of Grove City, were not injured.

 

Carey and Upper Sandusky EMS, Carey Fire Department, Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Major Crimes Unit and deputies from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office all assisted at the scene.

 

This is the second fatal accident to occur in Wyandot County in as many days. A Fremont man was killed in a crash Monday afternoon on State Highway 53.
