Car/Deer Collisions Increase this Time of Year

Written by on October 9, 2019

Tis the season for increased deer activity.

Hardin County Wildlife Officer Ryan Kennedy said harvest season, combined with mating and hunting seasons mean the deer will be more active from until the end of November.

In 2018, deer-vehicle crashes throughout Ohio tallied 18,309.

Three deaths and 980 injuries were caused by those crashes during the year.

Kennedy advises motorists to always be on the look-out for deer when driving.

He also noted that when you see one deer, you’re almost guaranteed to see more.
