Busing Options Explored; No Decisions Made

Written by on March 19, 2019

The Kenton City School Board is looking at options to improve busing systems for the district.

At last night’s Board meeting, Superintendent, Jennifer Penczarski, gave a detailed report on options that are being considered.

The plan, that is known as a two-tier busing system that the district is looking at for the 2019-2020 school year. Changes would include changing start times for the elementary, middle and, high schools. This would also improve safety, capacity, efficiency and effectiveness of the busing systems.

The busing system has increased from 400 students to around 1,200 students, needing a change to insure better modes of travel for students. However, no decisions have been finalized as of last meeting. Yet, the Board is hoping to start conversations for families as how to improve the environment within the district. A meeting will be held on April, 2nd for families to discuss these potential changes.

The next meeting of the Kenton City School Board will be on April 15th, at 7 o’clock.
