Allen Foundation Awards Scholarships to 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year Students

The R. E. and Joan S. Allen Foundation announced the awarding of $75,000 in renewal scholarships to 27 students for the 2020-2021 year.

Second year scholarships in the amount of $25,000 were awarded to:

Landon Bartlett, Olivia Hattery, Elizabeth Heintz, Drew Hoppe, Haley Hunt, Jacob Jolliff, Gene Longbrake, Keller Stout, Lyndi Taylor and Caitlin Tudor

Third year scholarships in the amount of $36,000 were awarded to:

Shelby Alloway, Delaney Althauser, Kori Barrett, Olivia Brown, Alexander Canaday, Lauren Johnson, Tawnie Keen, Morgan Kohl, Hunter Moore, Kobey Rawlins, Steven Stalder, Layne Taylor and Erin Unger

Fourth year scholarships in the amount of $14,000 were awarded to:

Kolt Buchenroth, Ashley Morris, Dalton Perkins and Sarah Thomas

In May of 2020, the Allen Foundation awarded 38 first year scholarships in the amount of $60,000.

The scholarships are available to graduating seniors of Kenton High School and to employees and immediate family members of Graphic Packaging International in Kenton. Grant recipients are eligible to apply for annual renewals.

R. E. Allen, who died at the age of 98 in June of 2019, always commented, “It is my desire that these scholarships will enable recipients to become self-reliant, skillful and successful members of our community.”
