2020 Fireworks Show and Associated Festivities in Kenton Cancelled

The fireworks show for 2020 is cancelled and the associated festivities that were to be held at Home Run Memorial Park will be cancelled as well.
According to a release, the Freedom Celebration committee has met multiple times over the last several weeks discussing plans for the fireworks show on Independence Day.
The safety of the fireworks team is the highest priority due to the dangerous nature of the work that they do to prepare the fireworks and firing of the shells for the show.
With that in mind, it is virtually impossible for the team to work with separation guidelines and cannot wear masks while working in extreme heat.
The committee thanked the community and donors for their support and all donors will receive a communication with their preference of a refund or carrying funds over for the 2021 show.
